My aim as a teacher is to cultivate artist citizens.  Through the study of music, my students achieve their goals and in the process, they develop empathy and find confidence and joy.  I have taught students ages 3 to 63 in New York City for over twenty years. In my studio, we explore everything from Gershwin and Oscar Peterson to Debussy, Schumann and C.P.E. Bach.  My approach develops and celebrates each student’s strengths. This allows them to express who they are, expand their musical worlds, and surpass their expectations.

Student successes include state and national awards from the Royal Conservatory of Music and performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. My students also make an impact within their communities, performing with their school orchestra, jazz ensembles, and chamber music programs.  In addition, they regularly perform in senior centers and at Hope Lodge for cancer patients and their families.

I am humbled to see my students succeed at top universities and colleges, including Princeton, Harvard, MIT and Cornell. My adult students enjoy renewing their love of playing, discovering new repertoire, and performing for their community and friends.  To me, having students develop a lifelong love and appreciation for the art is the biggest reward.
